很抱歉,第11首《The Duck And TheKangaroo》我没有找到。

The Duck and theKangaroo

By Edward Lear 1812–1888 Edward Lear

I

Said the Duck to the Kangaroo,

‘Good gracious! how you hop!

Over the fields and the water too,

As if you never would stop!

My life is a bore in this nasty pond,

And I long to go out in the world beyond!

I wish I could hop like you!’

Said the Duck to the Kangaroo.

II

‘Please give me a ride on yourback!’

Said the Duck to the Kangaroo.

‘I would sit quite still, and say nothingbut “Quack,”

The whole of the long day through!

And we’d go to the Dee, and the Jelly Bo Lee,

Over the land, and over the sea;—

Please take me a ride! O do!’

Said the Duck to the Kangaroo.

III

Said the Kangaroo to the Duck,

‘This requires some little reflection;

Perhaps on the whole it might bring me luck,

And there seems but one objection,

Which is, if you’ll let me speak so bold,

Your feet are unpleasantly wet and cold,

And would probably give me the roo-

Matiz!’ said the Kangaroo.

IV

Said the Duck, ‘As I sate on the rocks,

I have thought over that completely,

And I bought four pairs of worsted socks

Which fit my web-feet neatly.

And to keep out the cold I’ve bought a cloak,

And every day a cigar I’ll smoke,

All to follow my own dear true

Love of a Kangaroo!’

V

Said the Kangaroo, ‘I’m ready!

All in the moonlightpale;

But to balance me well, dear Duck, sit steady!

And quite at the end of my tail!’

So away they went with a hop and a bound,

And they hopped the whole world three timesround;

And who so happy,—O who,

As the Duck and the Kangaroo?.

12:IfMusic Be The Food Of Love

If music be thefood of love,play on,

Give me excessof it;that,surfeiting,

The appetite maysicken,and so die.—

That strainagain—ithad a dying fall;

O,it came o'er my ear like the sweetsouth,

That breathesupon a bank of violets,

Stealing andgiving odour.

  Enough, no more.

' Tisnot so sweet now as it was befor.

O Spirit of love!

howquick and fresh art thou

that,not with standing thy capacity

receiveth as the sae,nought entersthere,

of what validity and pitch soe`er.

But falls into abatement and lowprice,

Even in a minute: so full of shapes isfancy

That it alone is high fantastical

假如音乐是爱情的食粮,那么奏下去吧;

你是多么敏感而活泼;

13:HeWishes For The Colths Of Heaven

抖森的声音薄而纤细,就像他的脸颊;

He wishes forthe Cloths of Heaven

  Had Ithe heavens' embroidered cloths,
  Enwroughtwith golden and silver light,
  Theblue and the dim and the dark cloths
11—14 tomhiddleston
  Ofnight and light and the half-light,
  I wouldspread the cloths under your feet:
  But I,being poor, have only my dreams;
  I havespread my dreams under your feet;
  Treadsoftly because you tread upon my dreams

可我,如此贫穷,仅仅拥有梦;

14:ThereIs No Woman's Sides

And whet`s herhistory?

DUKE ORSINO:

There is no woman's sides
Can bide the beating of so strong a passion
As love doth give my heart; no woman's heart
So big, to hold so much; they lack retention.
Alas, their love may be called appetite

No motion of the liver , but the palate

That suffer surfeit, cloyment and revolt;

But mine is all as hungry as the sea,

And can digest as much: make no compare

Between that love a women can bear me

And that I owe Olivia

VIOLA:

Ay,but I know—

DUKE ORSINO:

What dost thou know?

VIOLA:

Too well what love women to men mayowe:

In faith ,they are true of heart aswe.

My father had a daughter loved aman,

As it might be, perhaps, were I awomen,

I should your lordship.

DUKE ORSINO:

And what`s her history?

VIOLA:

A blank, my lord. She never told herlove,

But let concealment, like a worm i`thebud,

Feed on her damask cheek:she pined inthought,

And with a green and yellowmelancholy

She sat like patience on amonument,

Smiling at grief. Was not this loveindeed?

We men may say more, swear more:butindeed

Our shows are more than will;for still weprove

Much in our vows, but little in our love.

女人的小小的身体一定受不住像爱情强加于我心中的那种激烈的搏跳;

女人的心没有这样广大,可以藏得下这许多;

不是从脏腑里,而是从舌尖上感觉到的,过饱了便会食伤呕吐;

我知道得很清楚女人对于男人会怀着怎样的爱情;

让隐藏在内心中的抑郁像蓓蕾中的蛀虫一样,侵蚀着她的绯红的脸颊;

可是我们所表示的,总多于我们所决心实行的;
