The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui,Shanghai. The tower, surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in thenortheast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest, creates a pictureof 'twin dragons playing with pearls'. The entire scene is aphotographic jewel that excites the imagination and attractsthousands of visitors year-round.
This 468 meters high (1,536 feet) tower is the world's thirdtallest TV and radio tower surpassed in height only by towers inToronto, Canada and Moscow, Russia. The base of the tower is supported by three seven-meterwide slanting stanchions. The base of the tower is home to a science fantasy city. Thefive smaller spheres are a hotel that contains twenty-five elegantrooms and lounges. The pearl at the very top of the tower containsshops, restaurants, (including a rotating restaurant) and asightseeing floor. The view of Shanghai from this height fills youwith wonder at the beauty that surrounds you. When viewed from theBund at night, the tower's three-dimensional lighting makes it adelight of brilliant color.
