我看过一些关于英语十四行诗的论著，有学者认为彼得拉克体的十四行诗都是五音部抑扬格。但是就我翻译过的《白朗宁夫人十四行诗》来说，却发现不尽然。下面做一些分析与大家探讨：
一、白朗宁夫人十四行诗第一首：

小结：虽然每行都是五音部，但并非都是抑扬格。
第五行最后两个音部为抑抑扬扬，也算抑扬格；
第十一行为11个音节，第三个音部为抑抑扬格。
第十二行为11个音节，第四个音部为抑抑扬格。
再说韵脚，这首彼得拉克体十四行诗的韵律为abba,abba,cdc,dcd，但是move[mu:v]、
strove[strəʊv]和love[lʌv]实际上是假韵。呵呵，看来伟大的白朗宁夫人也用假韵啊。
二、白朗宁夫人十四行诗第二首

第二行的第三个音部为抑抑扬格；
第五行的第四个音部为抑抑扬格；
第六行的第五个音部为抑抑扬格
第十三行是12个音节，六个音部，可见全部是五音部的说法不成立。
三、白朗宁夫人十四行诗第三首：

小结：第一行第五音部抑抑扬格
第二行第二音部为扬抑格；第四音部为扬抑格；第五音部为扬抑抑格；
第三行为12音节六音部第一、第二音部为扬抑格；第三音部为抑抑格；
第六行第五音部为抑抑格；
第七行为9个音节四个音部，第三音部为扬抑格；第四音部为抑抑扬格；
第八行第二音部为扬抑格；第五个音部为抑抑扬格；
第十一行第三音部为抑抑格；第四音部为扬抑格；第五音部为扬抑抑格；
第十三行第五音部为抑抑扬格。
再说韵脚，这首彼得拉克体十四行诗的韵律为abba,abba,cdc,dcd，但是 a韵中Heart[hɑ:t]、athwart[ə'θwɔ:t]、art和part，很明显athwart[ə'θwɔ:t]是假韵。
四、白朗宁夫人十四行诗第五首
【用 -表示重读音节，用^表示非重读音节】：

小结：第一行最后一个音部为抑抑格；
第六行四个音部，最后一个音部为扬抑抑格；
第七行第一个音部为抑抑扬格；
第八行最后一个音部为抑抑格。
再看韵脚，这首彼得拉克体十四行诗的韵律为abba,abba,cdc,dcd，a 韵中的几个单词solemnly[ˈsɔləmlɪ]、see[si:]、me[mi:]和utterly[ˈʌtəli]是不是完全韵？如果是，那么hasty 和sadly，so和sorrow，easily和misery就也应该可以，不能算假韵吧？呵呵。
结论：通过以上分析可以看出，白朗宁夫人的十四行诗并非都是五音部抑扬格，大部分是五音部这是事实（但是五音部11个音节的情况很多），而且常会出现四音部、六音部的诗行也是事实；抑扬格占多数也不假，但是抑抑格、扬抑格、扬扬格、扬抑抑格、抑抑扬格也不少见。所以说，“彼得拉克体的十四行诗都是五音部抑扬格”的说法不成立。而且，这位伟大的诗人也有用假韵的时候。
