从以上分析可以看出,要做出正确选择,前提是能迅速而准确的读懂题干;而完整理解题干,考生必须要掌握英语句子的基本构成方式,即:定语从句、宾语从句、非谓语结构等;同时,出于对语境的考察需要,考生尤其要注意题干中出现的并列句连词或相关词汇,如承接关系的and,转折关系的but或者still等等,这样才能全面而准确的迅速找出答案。
词汇部分的第二小节---完形填空,因为考察学生对于篇章的全面理解,尤其是上下文的衔接呼应感情等细节,一直都是考生头疼而畏惧的项目。今年挑选的这篇文章也不例外,主题为当今时代的“消费型社会”概念,并生动地讲述了作者购买自行车的经历,语言朴实而具体,感情生动而无奈,并融合了不少自行车的专门部件名称,可能由此会对考生造成心理上的压力。但整体来看,文章是标准的记叙文体裁,其间又充满了直接对话,所以只要考生能够抓住时间标志词以及对话的主要目的,应该能够绕过专业词汇的困扰,直达成功彼岸。
下面我对整篇文章进行了详尽分析。
开篇第一句话是文章主题,作者使用了分词作定语的结构,“我往往能够接受电视上专家提出的建议”,暗示了后文故事发展过程中的不知不觉和无可奈何。“一天,一位社会学家指出消费性社会如今正在逐渐消耗或毁灭人类”,这句话很好的提炼出文章的中心思想,或者说作者这个故事的核心主旨。然后文章进入作者的经历描述,考生一定要注意字里行间的时间或步骤表达,由此形成篇章的整体概念。
“为了避免自己成为消费性社会的牺牲品之一,我第一时间赶去附近的一家自行车店。车店老板为我介绍自行车时说,‘这是你到目前为止可能拥有的最好的一件物品。生活就是这样复杂得让人看不到希望。自行车本身非常简单,但它会为你带来最自然的东西—新鲜的空气、阳光以及让人振奋的运动。’我对老板的看法表示赞同。像个孩子一样的开心,我立刻跨上自行车,离开小店,朝大街上骑去。过了一段时间,我骑车穿越小镇,如此简单的交通工具居然能帮助我在如此短的时间内就行驶如此远的距离,我对此惊叹无比。我还能继续行驶多远呢?最远的距离会是哪里呢?”

分析完了整篇文章,大家一定发现了,理解时间连接词语和对话中的关联意义是非常重要的;尤其到了文章结尾部分,老板的那句“Thisisthebestthingyoucouldhavedone”和文章开头部分的同样句子形成呼应,却别具讽刺,原来,作者的希望落空了,他不过还是“消费性社会的又一个牺牲品而已”。

阅读理解部分,整体难度不算太大。共五篇短文,细节题和推理题考察最多,根据题目中的关键词或者关键短语在文章中通过快速浏览获得准确定位,并查找相关信息,善于使用同义替换或者是反义对比是解题的关键。另外猜词题也有考到,需要学生通读整个段落,有较好的上下文理解能力,从而做出选择。考生在做阅读理解题时,在了解文章大意之后,切记一定要擅长搜索和跳读,并反复验证和检查信息的正确与否。
下面,我们从选材和解题的角度来对2012年高考英语湖北卷的阅读理解部分进行解析。
首先,如考纲的要求“考察内容和现实生活,社会发展结合紧密”。2012年湖北卷的阅读理解均和社会热点或学生生活相关。A篇是新闻报道和采访类的题材,讨论英国的变化,街道的日新月异和移民的增多,海关的森严。B篇是典型的记叙文,不出意料,每年考试必然会有一篇记叙类的文章,该文章节选自NationalGeographic网站上的一篇名为“MyMultimodalMom:GrowingUpWithPublicTransport”的文章。讲的是笔者幼年时期和兄弟一块在妈妈的指导和安排下,坐不同的交通工具独自到达目的地,从而建立了自信和锻炼了独自生活的能力。C篇是2012年4月11日发表在BritishMedicalAssociation的一篇名字是“Specialdelivery”的教育类的文章,从发现一封140年前的学位申请信开始窥探女性进入大学学习之始初。D篇则是摘自NewZealandListener2012年1月14日发表的一篇名为“Thesiblingeffect”的一篇讨论兄弟姐妹差异性及其原因的议论文。E篇名字是“WhyMorningRoutinesAreCreativityKillers”是2012年2月1日发表在TimeIdeas的一篇文章。
从题材上看,五篇文章都不陌生,对学生而言,只要平时注意培养英文阅读习惯,常读英文报刊杂志,对这样的议论或者说明文都会比较熟悉。
此次选题,涉及到关于英国人对待新移民的态度和社会城市变化的模式,家庭教育关于自信和独立方面的教育,大学教育和关于创造性的讨论。由此不难看出命题人对于考纲的准确把握和对社会、学生发展需求的深入了解。整体选材借鉴西方文化和西方家庭教育等背景知识来使学生在答题的过程也能反思自己,加深考生对于西方文化的了解和认同。所以,在同等语言水平之上,思想积极阳光,培养独立意识和创造性思维,并且了解关心人类进步,是今年阅读考题的亮点之一。

如上所述,本次阅读考题,细节题和推理题偏多。比如,A篇中51题和53题为细节判断,51题基本上是送分题,原文中的该信息就出现在第二段的第一句话中“smallchange”。53题则需要做一个基本词义替换,原文中倒数第二段的第一行提到:Toseepolicemenwithgunsintheairportforthefirsttimewasfrightening,而53的正确选项是用thetightsecurity替换了原文信息。52题是态度题,需要通读Debi的话,才能得出她的态度对于新移民是Positively,解题的关键是第五段的第一句话---Havingbeenanimmigrant(移民)myself,Iadmirepeoplewhogooverseastofindajob.“admire”这个词可以窥探到Debi的态度。而54题不出意料为全文主旨题,本文属于新闻类题材,主旨清晰明了,开篇就有提到,所以选择B。

3.像“润滑剂”一样可以保持语流顺畅的连接词必不可少,如范文中的“besides”“soon”等。
4.恰当使用复杂句,范文中用到让步状语从句,宾语从句和定语从句等。令文章显得不枯燥,文笔优雅。
