Hubert和太太去的是希腊的KOS岛(以下文字来自Hubert，中文来自我）：
The island is rather small (max. 43km long,
9 km wide), but very beautiful; with a long and changefulhistory.
KOS岛面积相当小（不超过43公里长、9公里宽），但她美丽、历史多彩斑斓。
Our hotel is located directly near the beach, from the balcony wecan look at an inner garden, the sea and the coast of theneighbored Turkey – just around 10 kmaway.
我们的酒店就在海滩边上，从阳台上，我们可以看到酒店的花园、大海、与土耳其接壤的海岸-很近，仅有约10公里。
The city of Kos has about 18000 inhabitants. We visit the walls ofthe castle (built 500 years ago) and have magnificent views to theharbor, the minaret and buildings from the Italian rule around 80years ago.
科斯城约有18000居民，我们参观了城堡（建于500年前）的城墙、壮丽的海港景色、建于80年前的意大利风格的尖塔和各类建筑。
We stroll along and look at the market hall; it offers appetizingfruits, honey, smelling herbs, sweets, olive products andsouvenirs.
我们去逛了市场，那里商品琳琅满目：诱人的水果、蜂蜜、味道各异的草药、糖果，橄榄制品和各式纪念品。
The picturesque Turkish mosque is close to the orthodox church withthe typical lot of bright colored paintings on walls andceiling.

The harbor with its ferry boats, cargo ships, fishing boats andsightseeing boats is highly interesting to us landlubbers fromsouthern Germany!
对我们这来自德国南部的旱鸭子而言，到处都是渡船、货船、渔船和观光船的海港真是充满了无穷魅力！
Archeological excavations in the center of the town showfascinating relicts from the Roman period - about 2000 years oldstreets, buildings, columns andmosaics.

The Asklipieion,the most important ancient site of the island, is located at agorgeous spot.
2400 years ago there was a small temple only, but already onecentury later it developed to a sanctuary, devoted to thegodAsklipios,the god of medicine.
The famous doctor Hippokrates did live and teach at the island of Kos around 400 B.C.; his nameis linked with Kos intensively.
The ruins at the three terraces can only give some impression ofthe former outstanding temples, thermes,hospital and therapy buildings.

We visit small villages in the mountain area with nice churches,houses (often in the national colors white and blue), cultivatedgardens and some ruins of abandoned houses and thecastle.
我们还去了位于山区的小村庄，那里有漂亮的教堂和民居（颜色都是希腊典型的白色和蓝色）、种植园、废弃房屋和城堡的一些废墟。
There is no rain during the summertime, thus plants are dry andmost blossoms can be seen only at hotels and garden areasnow…
But nevertheless we enjoy our stay at Kos very, verymuch!
夏季无雨，因而植物干燥，只有在酒店和花园区能看到比较多的花儿。。。
但尽管如此，我们非常非常喜欢我们的科斯之行！
