一位可能信佛教的网友给我留言，讲了一个很“动人”的故事：“一位大学生登上火车，见一老人手执念珠念念有词。学生：你还信这过时的东西？老人：我信。学生：去了解了解科学对此的解释吧。老人：我不懂这方面的科学。学生：请留下地址，我寄些书给你看。老人递上一张名片，学生接过一看，脸一下子就红了。名片上写着——路易士.巴斯德，巴黎科学研究院院长。” 我知道他是好心，试图劝我放弃“极端科学主义”。他们认为我很可怜，因为“无知者的可怜之处是不知自己的无知”。 我最初才回应是： 1、在这个故事里你可以把巴斯德换成很多已知的注明科学家，而我无力去验证真伪； 2、著名科学家中确实有不少信教的，当然信的大多是基督教，可这不是科学界的主流，也不能依此证明宗教就超越科学。 一般我们还是认为“出家人不打诳语”的。可后来，我实在忍不住还是去求证一下看看这个故事是否有可能是真的。其实很简单google一下就知道了。（注意是google,而不是百度，百度常常被假消息淹没） 维基百科中关于巴斯德是有一个专门的词条的（http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Pasteur#Faith_and_spirituality），其中关于他的信仰和精神有专门的条目，原文如下： Although his grandson,Louis Pasteur Vallery-Radot, wrote that Pasteur had only kept fromhis Catholic background a spiritualism without religiouspractice,[17] Catholic observers often said Louis Pasteur remainedthroughout his whole life an ardent Christian, and his son-in-law,in perhaps the most complete biography of Louis Pasteur,writes: Absolute faith in Godand in Eternity, and a conviction that the power for good given tous in this world will be continued beyond it, were feelings whichpervaded his whole life; the virtues of the gospel had ever beenpresent to him. Could I but know all I would havethe faith of a Breton peasant's wife’”。 如上，对于巴斯德是否在其人生后期信奉天主教或参与天主教活动，是存在争议的；而且他不信教的可能性更大。如果历史上真的确如前所述的生动的事件，那么很难想象维基百科在巴斯德的词条中会遗漏这样一个引人入胜的信息。 出家人不打诳语，信佛的人也应以追求“真”为要务，否则你们说的话，谁还敢信呢？
