这组词都有“识别”、“辨认”的意思。
recognize“认出”，指一下辨认出某人或某物。
1）Hewalked along in the shadows hoping no one would recognizehim.
他沿着暗处走,希望没有人会认出他。
2) I recognized her voice onthe phone immediately though I hadn’t heard about
herfor more than tenyears.
在电话里我一下就听出她的声音，尽管我十年多年没有见听到她了。

identify“辨认”、“识别”，指在许多人或事物中辨认出是某人或某物。
