英语里酒的说法千变万化
酒的说法实在太多了,除了最常见的葡萄酒(wine),今天的节目里还提到了以下这些酒的说法,先给大家列出来,具体的解释都在节目里:
alcohol: 酒、酒精
booze (informal): 酒 (口语)
liquor: 烈酒
spirit: 烈酒,白酒
hooch: 烈酒,通常是私酿的
moonshine: 私酿的酒
alcohol: 酒、酒精

Booze, like alcohol, is an all-encompassing term: Booze跟alcohol一样,包括各种酒
My gut kinda tells me that originally it was really used to refer to liquor: 我感觉Booze这个词最早是指烈酒
liquor: 烈酒
liquor store: 卖酒的商店 (常常是政府经营的)
In some states, you have to go to the liquor store to get liquor; there’re some states that have liquor in the grocery store: 有些州规定只有专门的店才能卖烈酒,而有些州超市里就有出售
It really depends on where you live: 这取决于你所在的地方
Where I’m from, there were separate liquor stores: 在我老家,买酒要去专门的商店
Liquor stores sell beer, wine and everything: 这些商店卖啤酒、红酒以及其它各种各样的酒
There’re also beer stores that only sell beer and wine, but no liquor: 也有些卖酒的商店只卖啤酒和红酒,不卖烈酒
We’re gonna liquor him up: 今天要灌醉他
No drunk driving/ Don’t drink and drive: 喝酒不开车,开车不喝酒
有些人真的酒精过敏
有些人对酒精过敏,喝完就会发红发痒。当然,有很多人并不相信有酒精过敏这回事儿,他们觉得这只是一个挡酒的借口。
I don’t drink/I’m not a drinker: 我不喝酒 (drink有一个意思就是喝酒)
