No Way Out
by: Xiangyang(向阳)

When the wind comes, the wings lose their direction
The journey without a track is an extensive space
This real intervention makes those abstract words
In one’s eyes, more lively than a blade
That more lively than a blade is still the spider. It never gets tired
Weaving its whole life into a net like a fisherman sitting in silence
Believing unyieldingly a fish will come to the hook. No one plays the part of the bait
To keep a life appointment. A fish is only
Angling for itself with its own hankering as bait
On the road where the wind must go pass, the spider
A sage no one has ever cracked
Lurks in its reign making new frontiers and territories
Setting up the catching trap, while knitting the finale of love
Such is the final destination, be it sadly beautiful, solemn
Or satisfactory. A fish is born to bite the bait, a moth dance for a fire
Do I have any reason for not giving up all the struggles
And bog down into your cobweb, since I’m doomed to have no way out?
(from The Pain Through Life)
