在《筑基部分》我们介绍过英文数字的圾示法，那些数字都是用于表示数量关系，既表示有多少东西，通常称他们为基数词。英语中还有一类与数字有关的词，他们用于表示顺序关系，既表示第几，例如第一、第二、第三等等，称为序数词。因为序数词在英文地址中经常出现，而送餐又离不开英文地址，所以，在学习接触送餐地址之前，我们先来学习英语序数词。

第十三课 英文地址的表示法
一、表示街道的英文名称
*以下的一些名称都有表示街道，因为美国人将街道分成许多类型，所以有这么多的名称，但我们中文却都称其为街道，没有这么多的名称，所以在表示英文地址时，为了不至于混淆不同的街道，最好直接采用英文的叫法，而不要把它们全都叫街道。
1. ST. (stree的缩写，最普通、最正规的街道）
2. AV. (avenue的缩写，常常也写成AVE，一般用来表示与ST垂直交叉的街道）
3. RD. (road 的缩写）
4. PL. (Place的缩写）
5. DR. (drive的缩写）
6. CT. (court的缩写）
7. BLVD. (boulevard的缩写，通常是很宽广的大街道，常常与高速公路相连）
二、常见的地址表示法
1.门牌号加上街道名
这是最常见的地址表示法，只要找到相应的街道，再沿街道即可找到门牌号码。
例如： 236,2nd ST.
56, Allen AV.
1204,Queens BLVD.
2, Adam PL.
2.用：“-”连接起来的两个数字所表示的门牌号加上街道名
纽约的皇后区大部分都采用这种地址
例如：
102-34, 56 AV.
54-67,Miller RD.
两个用“-”相连的数字的第一个通常都表示离该地址最近的垂直方向的一条街。
例如 102-34,56 AV. 表示该地址位于56 AV.与它最近的垂直方向的街道是102 ST.
注意：表示街道的数字是用序数词，表示门牌号的数字是用基数词。
3. 办公大楼或宿舍大楼的名字加上房间号或宿舍号码
例如：Empire State Building
RM. 607
帝国大厦607房间
这里，Building 是“大楼”，RM 是room的缩写，意思是“房间”
