为了庆祝圣诞节，Mariah于1994年11月1日发行了她的圣诞专辑，MerryChristmas。这也是历史上销量最好的圣诞专辑之一。12月在专辑榜成绩为第3名（1994年12月16日），销量为5白金。在美国，专辑销量为5,400,000张。在日本，专辑销量为2,700,000张。全球专辑销量为17,000,000张。
MerryChristmas很容易让人想到20世纪60年代女子组合PhilSpector的圣诞专辑AChristmasGifttoYou。实际上，这张专辑就是收录了像DarleneLove的Christmas(BabyPleaseComeHome)以及传统歌曲Hark!theHeraldAngelsSing,Gloria(inExcelsisDeo)，SilentNight等。

AllIWantForChristmasIsYou
是MerryChristmas专辑中的第一支单曲。也是专辑中三首Carey-Afanasieff作品中的一支。这是一首中节奏的情歌，充满了丰富的圣诞色彩。
值得一提的是，这首作品在日本相当的受欢迎。1994年11月该单曲首发。随后在1996年10月和2000年12月再次在日本发行。而日本发行的#1’s、GreatestHits以及TheRemixes中也都收录了该曲目。
AllIWantforChristmasisYou的音乐录影带是在圣诞节之前拍摄的，TommyMotolla扮演了一个圣诞老人。而在1994年12月14日，MTV电视台的一个一小时Mariah电视特辑中，出现了一个黑白六零年代风格的新音乐录影带。
JesusBornonthisDay
